First Lady Nonye Soludo Holds Town Hall Meeting with Persons with Disabilities, Enrolls 1000 into Free Health Insurance Scheme

The First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, recently held a town hall meeting with members of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.

During the meeting, Mrs. Soludo enrolled 1000 persons with special needs into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme, providing them with free medical care worth 12.5 million Naira.

Mrs. Soludo, who is the founder of the Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo Initiative, emphasized the importance of health and encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the free medical care. She also urged them to adopt healthy living practices, such as being mindful of their diet and staying in shape.

The event was attended by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, who praised the Governor and his wife for their efforts in promoting the welfare of persons with disabilities. The Chairman of the Anambra State Disability Rights Commission, Barr. Chukwuka Ezewuzie, also commended the Governor and his wife for their love and care towards persons living with disability.

During the meeting, Mrs. Soludo was awarded the Disability Rights Ambassador by the Community of People Living with Disability in the state. She reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing good governance for all residents of Anambra State, including persons with disabilities.

The Governor’s wife also announced that the administration is working on special initiatives for persons with disabilities and that her husband is aware of their needs. She called on the community to support the administration’s efforts, noting that their prayers will help deliver a solution-oriented government for a second term.

The event concluded with Mrs. Soludo expressing her gratitude to the attendees for honoring her invitation and assuring them of the administration’s commitment to their welfare.
