Isuofia, Anambra State – The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary at their palatial home in Isuofia, marking a milestone of love, companionship, and shared dreams.
Mrs. Nonye Soludo took the occasion to express her joy and gratitude for the years spent with her husband. “32 years of this amazing journey of love, friendship, and fulfilment with this exceptional guy, and it still feels as refreshing as the first day,” she shared in a heartfelt message. She described the presence of her husband in her life as an “incredible blessing,” expressing her eagerness to relive the journey if given the chance.
Reflecting on their marital journey, Mrs. Soludo highlighted the essence of their relationship. “I married my friend, and all through the years, it has been wonderful,” she remarked, emphasizing the foundation of friendship in their marriage. She noted that the anniversary felt as if it were just yesterday, underscoring the enduring quality of their bond.
The couple’s celebration included looking forward to more years together, with Mrs. Soludo humorously aiming for an 80th anniversary in good health. “By God’s grace, we aim to celebrate up to our 80th anniversary in good health!” she exclaimed, showing their optimistic outlook on life and love.
Mrs. Soludo also shared insights into what has made their marriage successful. She credited “openness and truthfulness with each other” and loving one another “like siblings” as key factors. This transparency and familial love, she believes, have kept their union strong.
Addressing younger couples, Mrs. Soludo offered advice grounded in her experience. “Before entering into marriage, they need to understand what it truly entails!” she cautioned, pointing out a generational misunderstanding of marriage. She criticized the modern view of marriage as merely a “business” and urged young couples to focus on love, respect, and spirituality.
“Put God first in their lives!” was her advice for a lasting marriage. Mrs. Soludo stressed the importance of spiritual grounding alongside mutual respect and love, suggesting these elements as essential for a fulfilling partnership.
The celebration was not just a personal milestone for the Soludos but also a moment of inspiration for others, reflecting on the values of marriage, commitment, and mutual support. Their story serves as a beacon for others navigating the complexities of married life.
The event at their home in Isuofia was not only a celebration of their past but also a hopeful look towards the future, embodying the essence of love that transcends time, challenges, and changes, proving that with the right ingredients, love can indeed last a lifetime.
