In a landmark event poised to redefine Nigeria’s educational landscape, the Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, earlier today flagged off the explosive distribution of cutting-edge educational materials and digital tablets to schools across the state. The ceremony, organized by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja, in collaboration with the Anambra State State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), erupted at the ASUBEB Headquarters, Awka, with stakeholders hailing it as a “game-changer for generations.

Channeling the administration’s unflinching resolve, Mrs. Soludo thundered, “Education is the bedrock of human capital development, a perfect balance between civilization and growth!” Celebrating UBEC and ASUBEB’s “massive collaboration of change,” she revealed the state’s jaw-dropping recruitment of 8,115 teachers under Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s watch’a figure she branded “Unprecedented in global history!”

“While the UK Prime Minister campaigned on hiring 4,000 teachers for an entire nation, Anambra alone recruited 8,115 through a transparent, merit-driven process. We’re not playing games here!” she declared, igniting cheers.

Unleashing the administration’s tech arsenal, Mrs. Soludo announced a “digital revolution” already in motion: 2,000 laptops distributed to headteachers, statewide internet connectivity for classrooms, and now, UBEC-sponsored tablets flooding schools. “Teaching and learning have changed-adapt or perish! The era of classrooms without teachers is dead. Anambra is reclaiming its throne as Nigeria’s WAEC, NECO, and JAMB champion!

The First Lady was honored with ASUBEB’s Award of Excellence for the administration’s free education policy and teacher recruitment spree. Meanwhile, ASUBEB Chairman Dr. Vera Nwadinobi detonated another bombshell: “Zero levies for all students from ECCD to SS3! Governor Soludo pays N1,500 per primary pupil and N2,000 per secondary student, no excuses, no extortion!”

Commissioner for Education Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh likened Soludo’s reforms to Australia’s Aboriginal education model, proclaiming, “When a good man leads, the people rejoice! Anambra is morphing into a destination-not a departure lounge-and education is the rocket fuel!”

The event also saw the launch of ASUBEB’s Healthy Living Organic Farm, while Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, Chairman of the Post-Primary Schools Services Commission, warned principals: “Use these materials or face the music! Our 3,615 ‘digital teachers’ are trained, tech-savvy, and ready to dominate!”

The historic summit drew a who’s-who of Anambra’s elite: Idemili South Mayor Hon. Amaka Obi, UBEC’s Kingsley Nlewedum (representing the Executive Secretary), Rev. Ernest Onu, all LG Education Directors, and a battalion of principals and headteachers’ all sworn to execute what attendees dubbed “Operation Educate or Vanquish!”
