In a significant meeting held at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, the All Soludo Support Groups (ASSG) National Women Groups paid a courtesy visit to Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of Anambra State Governor.

The visit, which took place amidst high spirits, saw Mrs. Soludo expressed her gratitude towards the women leaders for their unwavering support during the campaign period.

Mrs. Soludo, reflecting on the support groups’ efforts, stated, “I have been longing to meet you all because of the zeal and passion you showed during the campaign period. Your belief in the solution administration is commendable, and I urge you to continue doing well.”

During the meeting, Mrs. Soludo highlighted the significant strides made by her husband, Governor Soludo, in enhancing women’s welfare in the state. She emphasized, “Mr. Governor is someone that doesn’t joke with Women. The free antenatal and delivery services policy introduced by the Governor is mainly beneficial for women.” She also shared encouraging statistics, noting that Anambra State has the second-lowest mortality rate, just after Lagos, following the implementation of these policies.

Addressing the issue of health, Mrs. Soludo revealed her personal journey towards a healthier lifestyle, which she has maintained for over 18 years. She mentioned, “Our natural foods are the greatest medicine on earth! A sickness like diabetes cannot be cured with drugs but natural food, the exact way God created it can reverse it.” She encouraged the women to embrace natural foods and consider having their own gardens to ensure access to healthy, fresh produce.

The meeting concluded with Mrs. Soludo providing a toll number, 08101355330, for the women leaders to report any cases of child abuse or domestic violence. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens, particularly the vulnerable groups.

Earlier, the National Woman Leader of the ASSG Women Groups, Mrs. Amaka Obi, in her remarks, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Soludo for saving many lives through her healthy living initiative. “All the markets you are visiting, the women you are meeting are those with whom we are working together. You are not going there for a political campaign but rather to save lives.”

“The women are also impressed by your humility and down-to-earth personality. Your lifestyle is a model to emulate. We have not seen a Governor’s wife who is a farmer. You set up an exhibition garden and show ndi Anambra practically how to farm. You visit orphanage homes to touch the lives of children without parents. We thank you so much for your good work in the State.”

“These are Women Leaders of various Support Groups for Governor Soludo. Our kind of politics is not Awka politics or social media politics. We are purely grassroots, going to our communities down to wards and kindreds to spread the Soludo gospel, and that’s why we launched the door-to-door campaign for Governor Soludo,” she said.

Also speaking, Mrs. Amaka Okafor, the Convener of Soludo’s Ladies Movement, commented on child abuse and community violence. “The menace was serious, but in this Soludo administration, ndi Anambra found out that a father can defile a daughter, including husbands hitting their wives, and so many abominations that are occurring. And because of Mrs. Soludo’s support, the issue has decreased.”

“On the education sector, we also believe your support gave birth to free education in the state. In the health sector, this state is witnessing free antenatal and delivery services in the state. There’s now a low mortality rate in the state; women are no longer dying while giving birth.

We are all convinced to bring our various groups together to support you and your husband, Governor Soludo, for a second term, to complete his goodwill. The Governor has made our work easy because he is a good product that sells itself. Preaching the good works of Soludo is easy, and even the opposition can testify that Soludo is working,” she said.

In a vote of thanks, the APGA State Woman Leader, Lady Esther Onyekesi, charged the women leaders to scream loudly and advertise the works of Governor Soludo because he is indeed working and there is so much to talk about. “The Soludo gospel is for our own benefit and that of our children and various families,” she said.
