In a recent meeting, the local organizing committee of science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University’s Faculty of Physical Sciences, led by Prof. Kingsley Nwozor, paid a courtesy visit to the first lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Soludo, who expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating that the government cannot do everything and that programs like “one youth, two skills” and “code Anambra” are beneficial for the state’s youth.
Mrs. Soludo thanked the delegation for their involvement in her initiative, Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo, and expressed her willingness to work with them. She mentioned that HLNWS would assist in programs such as Girls in Tech, counseling/Health Safety Security and Environment, free medical outreach, and media and publicity.
Prof. Nwozor reiterated his efforts in promoting modern technology in the state and praised the partnership with the Solution Innovation District, which he believes has changed the game. He also praised the appointment of Chinwe Okoli as the Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation, describing her as energetic and deserving of the role.
The professor announced an upcoming conference in October, showcasing the university’s science with secondary schools that have participated in their programs, resulting in impressive products and an exhibition. He emphasized that the delegation wanted Mrs. Soludo to witness the great things her children are doing, aligning with her beliefs in the science of life and healthy living.
Chinwe Okoli added that the Faculty of Physical Sciences at COOU is leading the charge in technology, in line with Governor Soludo’s manifesto. She also revealed that the Governor has designated the current government house, which has 13.7 acres of land, for the Solution Innovation District, which already has a master plan, and arrangements are underway for the government to relocate to a new government house.
