In a recent social media post, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo (HLWNS), shared her excitement about harvesting fresh produce from the Healthy Living Exhibition Garden, located right behind her house. The garden, which is an evidence to the power of sustainable living, yielded an abundance of cabbages, tomatoes, and other vegetables for the day’s menu.
According to Mrs. Soludo, “We can grow crops typically associated with other regions and countries in Anambra State with the right practices.” This statement proves the potential of local farming in Nigeria, challenging the notion that certain crops can only be grown in specific regions.
Mrs. Soludo’s message is clear: everyone can contribute to sustainable living by starting small. “It mustn’t be so big to be productive,” she emphasizes. “Start off small — in bags, crates, buckets. Every little space is a garden.”
Her call to action is inspiring, and her love for the community is evident: “Imagine how far we could go if everyone goes back to the farm… Love you all .”
This initiative by HLWNS serves as a trigger that every individual can make a difference by embracing sustainable practices and supporting local farming. By starting small and utilizing available spaces, we can collectively create a more sustainable future.
