UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE – In a powerful display of unity and compassion, the First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, stood alongside other Southeast First Ladies today in Umuahia, Abia State’s capital, to welcome Her Excellency, Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of Nigeria’s Vice President.

The high-profile event marked the launch of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Social Investment Program, targeting vulnerable groups in Abia State.

Hajia Shettima, representing Nigeria’s First Lady and RHI National Chairman, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, delivered critical aid under the initiative, which has already reached 11 states and the FCT, with plans to expand further.

“This program is a systematic weapon against hunger,” declared Mrs. Soludo, emphasizing its role in uplifting poor households and marginalized communities nationwide.

The RHI’s multi-sector interventions spanning education, social support, agriculture, and economic empowerment have been pivotal in bridging societal gaps and boosting Nigeria’s economic resilience, particularly for women, girls, youths, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

In a heartfelt tribute, the Anambra First Lady praised Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her “true compassion and love for humanity,” adding, “Your Excellency, may God bless you.”

The event has sparked waves of optimism across Abia, with beneficiaries hailing the initiative as a lifeline amid economic hardships.

As the RHI expands, all eyes remain on the Tinubu-Shettima administration to see how far this “Renewed Hope” will go in eradicating poverty.
