Awka, Anambra State – In a show of solidarity for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second-term aspirations, the Healthy Living Advocates for Nonye Soludo, spearheaded by the initiative’s leadership, presented a N2 million donation to the governor on Saturday. The gesture displayed both political support and a shared commitment to wellness-driven governance.
Led by Dr. Afam Obidike, State Coordinator of Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo and State Health Commissioner, the delegation included prominent figures such as Dr. Tochukwu Obiadi (APGA Youth Leader), Comrade Ken Okoli (ASATU Youth President General), and Mr. Patrick Estate Onyedum (Chairman, Anambra Sports Development Commission). The group lauded Soludo’s transformative leadership, citing his strides in infrastructure, education, and healthcare over his three-year tenure.
Governor Soludo, while accepting the cheque, injected humor into his gratitude, praising his wife, Nonye Soludo—founder of the Healthy Living initiative—for her relentless dedication to fitness and nutrition. “I’m finding it difficult keeping up with my wife,” he quipped. “Before I wake up, she’s already exercising, sweating profusely. Because of her, I’m forced to eat fruits every morning. Healthy Living is the only way to stay strong and productive.” He emphasized that the Healthy Living donation held “top place” among recent pledges, given its personal significance.
Dr. Obidike highlighted Soludo’s national recognition as “Nigeria’s Best Governor” multiple times, crediting his “outstanding achievements” in positioning Anambra as a model for the Igbo community. “The entire Igbo race hinges on Anambra,” he asserted. “If we get it right here, the Igbo nation prospers. Governor Soludo is steering us toward that destiny.”
The governor pledged to sustain his administration’s momentum, urging residents to embrace Healthy Living principles. The event concluded with calls from supporters for Soludo to “remain relentless” in actualizing his vision for the state’s transformation.
