In a remarkable recognition of her dedication to public health and social welfare, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State Governor, was honored with an award by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Anambra State Chapter for her transformative work through her NGO, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo.

As part of the events commemorating the 2025 International Workers’ Day, the NLC organized a One Day Health and Economic Awareness Workshop, during which Comrade Humphrey Nwafor, the NLC Chairman in Anambra State, presented the award to Mrs. Soludo. He praised her for leading a compassionate and life-changing movement that has ignited health consciousness among thousands in Anambra.

“Through her crusade, Mrs. Soludo has inspired a growing awareness about health and the importance of personal well-being,” Comrade Nwafor remarked.

He also highlighted her significant contributions to social campaigns, including her efforts to combat violence, child labor, and human trafficking, as well as her initiatives to enhance social welfare and healthcare for women and children.

Receiving the award, Mrs. Soludo expressed her heartfelt thanks to the NLC for the honor. “It is deeply gratifying to see our humble efforts making a meaningful difference,” she said. “At Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, we are committed to making the world a better place through consistent and passionate action.”

She extended her appreciation to the NLC leadership and members for their recognition, adding, “Two days ago, during an event to mark the 2025 International Workers’ Day celebration, I was honored for using my NGO as an instrument of compassionate service and social change. I thank the leadership and the entire members of NLC in Anambra State for recognizing our work with such special notes. Thank you all, and may God bless you.”

The NLC’s decision to honor Mrs. Soludo explains the broad impact of her work, which relates across various sectors of society, from health to social justice. Her initiatives have not only improved individual lives but have also contributed to the overall betterment of the community.

As Anambra State celebrates Workers’ Day, Mrs. Soludo’s recognition serves as an evidence to the power of dedicated individuals in driving positive change and inspiring others to follow suit.
