Nonye Soludo Leads Another Saturday Fitness Session, Reinforces Healthy Living Crusade in Anambra

Another Saturday marked another community workout session led by Mrs. Nonye Soludo, Wife of the Anambra State Governor and Founder of Healthy Living With Nonye Soludo. The event, held as part of her sustained campaign to promote fitness and wellness, drew an impressive turnout, with participants engaging in rigorous exercises designed to target every part of the body.

Attendees, including first-time participants, testified to the transformative power of the program, echoing the mantra that “health is wealth.” Mrs. Soludo emphasized the session’s core philosophy: “We train dirty and eat clean!” She reiterated that for her team, healthy living is not a fleeting trend but a “culture and lifestyle,” central to their crusade for statewide wellness. “The message is clear,” she declared. “There are no shortcuts to healthy living—you either exercise or tire out!”

Mrs. Soludo, who has vowed to institutionalize exercise as a cultural norm in Anambra, is seeing her words materialize. The Healthy Living Saturday Workout Session has already been launched in Idemili South, Anaocha, and Anyamelum Local Government Areas (LGAs), with plans to expand the initiative to all 21 LGAs in the state.

Addressing perceptions about her advocacy, Mrs. Soludo stressed that her campaign is “not a pet project for politics.” She revealed that her commitment to healthy living spans over 17 years, long before becoming Anambra’s First Lady. “This is a personal crusade,” she explained. “Unfortunately, many people remain unaware of healthy living practices. It isn’t taught adequately in our schools, which is why I preach it wherever I go.”

Leading by example, Mrs. Soludo emphasized that she doesn’t merely advocate for healthy living—she “does it, breathes it, lives it, and is addicted to it.” She quipped, however, that this is “a better addiction than drugs, alcohol, junk food, processed foods, or sugary drinks.”

The initiative continues to gain momentum, blending physical workouts with education on nutrition and lifestyle choices. As the program expands, Mrs. Soludo remains steadfast in her mission to make Anambra a model of holistic health, one community at a time.
