Awka’s Solution Fun City erupted in energy this Saturday as Anambra’s First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, led hundreds in a pulsating workout session, cementing her Healthy Living initiative’s status as a full-blown health revolution. Dubbed “Mama Anambra,” Mrs. Soludo, founder of the NGO Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, has seen her fitness crusade explode across all 21 local government areas, transforming wellness into a cultural movement.

The turned doubly celebratory as the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Anambra Chapter, honored Mrs. Soludo with an Award of Excellence, lauding her as a “Social Crusader for Better Living.” NAWOJ members, who joined the workout en masse, praised her “redless drive to make fitness a lifestyle for every citizen.”

Post-workout, the First Lady surprised Coach Ijeoma, a key instructor, with a birthday celebration, rallying participants to dance and cheer. “Health is wealth’ without it, you can’t thrive for family or society” Mrs. Soludo declared, urging women, in particular, to “dance, walk, or move for 30 minutes daily.” Her message connects deeply in a state where women often work round-the-clock in their care-giving roles towards their homes, husbands and children.

What began as a personal passion 17 years ago has morphed into a statewide phenomenon since Mrs. Soludo became First Lady three years ago. “I turned this into a crusade because Anambra deserves healthy living,” she shared. Today, her initiative is credited with slashing sedentary habits, with communities reporting surges in group exercises, wellness workshops, and organic farms promoted by the NGO.

Citing scientific proof, Mrs. Soludo emphasized that daily movement “boosts longevity and strength,” a mantra now echoing across markets, schools, and homes. Her call to action has even reached policymakers, with local leaders integrating fitness hubs into public spaces.

As awards pile up-including recent recognition from religious and civil groups, Anambra’s health revolution shows no signs of slowing. With Mama Anambra at the helm, the state isn’t just breaking a sweat; it’s rewriting its future push-up at a time.
