The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has paid a heartfelt tribute to teachers across the state and beyond in celebration of the 2025 World Teachers’ Day, describing them as “the real heroes of our time.”
In a moving message, Dr. Soludo reflected on the profound influence of her late mother, a renowned educator, whose passion and commitment to teaching shaped her life and that of countless children. “I celebrate this year’s World Teachers’ Day, reminiscing deeply on how my darling mother who was a great teacher, shaped my life and that of thousands of kids who passed through her tutelage and guidance,” she said.
Dr. Soludo hailed teachers as the backbone of a progressive society, emphasizing their tireless sacrifices in nurturing the next generation. “Like my mother, who answered the call with dignity, dedication, and passion, teachers deserve to be celebrated, appreciated, and honoured. Always!” she declared.
Calling teaching a “sacred and selfless call,” the governor’s wife urged governments and stakeholders to ensure a safe, supportive, and thriving environment for teachers to excel. “On and off the classrooms, Teachers are kings,” she affirmed.
She further lauded Anambra’s teachers for their unmatched commitment to excellence, adding that the state’s livability and prosperity owe much to their relentless service. “There wouldn’t be a livable and prosperous Anambra without you,” she said warmly.
Dr. Soludo signed off her tribute with heartfelt appreciation to all educators: “To all the amazing Teachers in Anambra State, you’re the real heroes of our time. Happy World Teachers’ Day to you all!”
